There could be only so much a novice in the evolving sphere of academic literature could learn. It is evident that some students do find writing in an academic style a novelty; therefore, they fail to complete their first drafts without any mistakes or good remarks on the first try. Research has shown 2 out of 30 university students in a seminar room on an averagely sunny day feel disheartened by an overwhelming amount of constructive criticism in their respective feedback reports. Thus, this novelty consumes a lot of time for these students to accustom to and strive in. As Liew (2013) puts it:
“This is very difficult for me at the moment but I will put some time and effort into this skill set and own it like a bad ass motherf*****” (Liew, 2013, p.1093).
Liew expresses this very passionately and sees writing in an academic style a challenge for some university students.
