It’s stupid when people fight for what they want
when they forget they can never get what they want
as easily as they assume it to be
or as easily as the decision maker would want it to be.
Because don’t people know
that no matter how wrong an idea is
from the perspective of the protestor
or no matter how perfect it is
from the perspective of the supporter
decisions never wait for others
despite all its faults, flaws, fallacies.
Which idea is without its criticisms anyway.
But people will always hurt
in ways they least expect.
Then they will fight the injustice
in ways they never imagined.
Because people think they know best
in ways others disagree.
But despite the all disagreements,
people will still want change
in ways others will hurt.
But what we rarely think about
is how to deal with the consequences.
Because what we usually assume
is that there’s always another better idea.
But then we simply forget
that even the better of two ideas
will have its own consequences to be dealt with.
And while we continue searching for the better idea
because as they usually say, ‘There’s always a better idea’,
we forget to instead search for better ways
to deal with those consequences.
